On the 26th and 27th of July, we had a visit from the Dali Experimental Primary School (DEPS) from Guangdong, China. The purpose of this visit was to begin a sister-school relationships between our two institutions.
On the 26th, the Dali students joined the Year 5 and 6 classrooms as part of an immersion program to observe and take part in the Thomas Mitchell learning environment. The day culminated in a special assembly where a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Mr Hurley and Vice Principal May Zhou from DEPS. The Dali students also put on a magnificent skipping show which wowed both students and teachers alike.
On the 27th, the DEPS students and selected TMPS students went on an excursion to the Moonlit Sanctuary and Frankston Pier. The purpose of this excursion was to expose the DEPS to Australian wildlife, culture and food. We all had an enjoyable day and hope to communicate more with our new friends in the future.
