Throughout Reading Groups this term, a number of students from 5JC have had the opportunity to read a novel called, ‘A Long Walk to Water’ by Linda Sue Park. This book is based on a true story, where part of the story is centred around a girl in Sudan in 2008 and the other, about a boy in Sudan in 1985. They endure a range of hardships including loneliness, exhaustion and survival.

Students were able to find the parallels between both alternating stories in the book, as well as finding comparisons between their lives.
